screengrabs

In our production we used white writing on a black background. We did this because this is very common in this genre of film. Lots of Horror movies us it as its very simple easy to do. Also the simplicity of the whole shot with some creepy music can make it very effective as a scary point of the opening two minutes.

This screenshot from our production is to show the scenery/setting. As you can see there is a pond and lots of woods. We did this as often films are made in the woods so this was a great place to set our production. In the woods it is very remote and potentially quite scary. However the pond is a twist as their isn't usually so we have something different.

This is my screen grab of an example of special effects in our production. It is a typical example of a production credit. As the when it plays it has additive dissolve, this effect makes the production look and feel more dynamic, as they do in multi-million pound movie's.

This screen grab of the bag is to show camerawork. This show our camerawork is good   as i am searching looking through the bag for hot chocolate, the camera has the angle i would have myself. Therefore so it looks like the audience will be looking through my eyes from my perspective.

This screen grab introduces the characters. It introduces them as typical teenagers. The shot we used gives all the characters equal standing. The positioning stops everyone from knowing who will be killed, and who will be the murderer.

The genre of our film is horror. We chose horror as we were told it was one of the easiest to make ,however it was a very difficult film to make, as we had to create tension and suspense. Also an atmosphere needed to be present otherwise the horror is not effective.

Evaluation activity 1

In our production we challenged stereotypes of typical horror films as we decided to use different murder weapons.
For example instead of using bloody rusty knives, we used a gun and then my character strangled toms character to dead. Also we filmed our production next to a pond, whereas usually they are made in a distant cabins or the middle of the woods.
